plan for the static shock final stuff

Power Rangers got to 2nd at the box office cuz of that dumb hermione movie. I'm playing. I actually love Emma Watson like a sister. I can't imagine boinking her. We grew up together. I don't want to hit that oddly...

People say the sequel will come, no worries. It's a film that will need a good boost from word of mouth unfortunately. I mean, it's a lot like a really weird 80s movie from back in the day about alient technology impacting society. You either roll with those movies and accept what they are or you don't. It's where shit like captain planet gets a pass from people. It was the 80s/90s weird shit was always being made day after day. I mean that's why power rangers even got made, it was that time where super heros and ninja turtles and ghost busters were thriving. People wanted happy super hero shows. Do people want that stuff today? Are we finally over the emo movie period we've been in where every movie has to be about how horrible life is?

One wonders. Maybe Power Rangers should have made trump jokes to kinda hint that their world is suffering not only because of rita repulsa. There's no sense in the movie that anyone's aware of the bad political climate and that rings false to all of us today. We're not in a good place right now with trump in office. There's nothing to smile about really when the movie ends and they're all happy and stuff in the classroom at the end. One joking line about going to grab the president by the balls would have been nice, but what can I do now but wonder. And the movie wasn't even above making dated jokes that will lose their relevance with time. It would have fit same way the jokes in the original movie sound so damn 90s as fuck.

Anyway just thinking outloud really. I'm hoping we see the next movie come along. I'm not wanting a dbe, airbender, speed racer, situation out of this. This could work, lead to more awesome stuff. Prefer they actually make power rangers itself than pacific rim movies all day honestly. Imagine if transformers was done like this. Yunno that's what they were hoping for transformers box office since this movie is a billion times better than all of bay's movies combined. Sadly what bay's movies do have is shit tons of action which power rangers doesn't amazingly enough. It's stone faced an origin flick that apes the hell out of chronicle without shame.

Anywwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, since I'm going on all day about power rangers. I just wanted to set the plan out for how I'm going to tackle static shock.

Going to take costume shots as soon as possible to get tons and tons of references for different stages in the short film.

I've decided to make a short film, maybe 10 minutes at most. It'll be like a flashback sort of thing. It starts with him fully static then explores his origin and subsequent battle in the forest area since I have easy access to one near here. I'll shoot the whole thing in the forest if I can. Nobody goes there really.

Gotta get the bang baby elements using colored flame powder and stuff. He will get struck by lightning, changing how he gets his powers.

Then primarily this short film will explore why static is awesome, why people like him, why he's not just black spiderman. Being black is part of why he's who he is. He knows what it's like to be the victim all his life. He wants to use his powers to save others. That's what most people miss about him. They just look at him and wonder why he's a hero at all, not like he is responisble for his parents death or something. No, but the core reason he decides to be a hero is unexcitingly because he's been seeing bullies get away with their shit forever and wants to be one of the few people who's going to stand against them. Even more to the point, he's partially responsible for the bang baby thing. I'll make a point of showing that if virgil didn't agree to go to the gang meeting or whatever, they wouldn't have been there to get blasted with the gas.

I'll try to make sense of it if I can, why static is the lone hero out of them etc. I mean it's not simple why he does what he does. I think I'll include bits of him questioning why he should go out and fight them. Then one day he sees them kicking some kid's ass and he flashes back to when he got beat up, and he's motivated to go out etc... Not the most noble stuff, but static's not superman at all. He's a guy who's got a good heart but doesn't always follow it.

And yeah, I mean, the real pull here is the action and fx, not the story really. Like spawn. Spawn's a character people question the motives of too but damnit if he's not visually amazing.

I gotta move quickly before time catches up to me and I grow beyond any sense of reasonable level of youthfulness to pass for static's age in the final film.
