Happy Holidays

I never do christmas posts. I'm in the middle of writing a anxtey ass post about the struggles blacks face. And it strikes me, why am I doing that on a day of joy and presents and forgetting your worries.

Yeah not even me going to go and spend today all morose and spiteful.

Everybody should get some damn joy today and be a little happy in this dismal horrible world we inhabit.

I do hope today's a good one even to those I don't like, wow that takes courage, wishing your enemies a decent happy day.

That's jesus. That's what he was trying to say. Go to your worst enemy and be kind to him or her.

Think about it, think about how hard that is. I'm thinking about it right now, the people I don't like, and how it would be ridiculously tough to wish them well. But if you follow the book, that's the way...

up to you. Good luck everybody.

So lost right now

What's 7 dollars for a early morning showing eh, just go wack off to some lightsaber fest and be back in time for a good relaxing shower or something...

Yeah yunno the clickbaiter parade has begun but in my years of giving a crap about star wars videos and stuff, I just don't feel compelled to this time.

It kinda really is over for me. Oh should I spend 15 minutes watching this review which will likely end up parroting every one elses thoughts or don't waste my time.

Will or won't I go see the movie and be done with it. I've watched so many of these movies in theaters though, I've wasted so much on this kind of stuff I do not want to keep pumping my money away into some clumbsy sequel thing to a beloved franchise.

I think it's time to put a strong foot down and say no more, that's all.

I've been doing the go arounds looking at so many view points on the film its flaws, its good parts, the better approaches to the script, what's been cut. It's all kinda a big last attempt to scramble for something to find that's fine with it. I'll tell you this. Yeah I went to ALL of the spider man movies. And I've yet to see any of the homecoming and stuff movies and I just don't want to. I'm burned out on those films and just tired of them by this point. I don't give a sith about yet another in a damn assembly line of spidey movies, my apologies.

And make no mistake rise of skywalker's like spidey 3 or even better comparison is dark knight rises. I don't hate either of those films, but they undoubtedly dropped the ball. In rises case too it couldn't proceed with a joker storyline at all since the passing of the actor really and that might have impacted things. All things considered it did what it had to do and finished the story set up in batman begins even if it was a big confusing messy weird ass way that it decided to do it.

Spidey 3 same thing. Even more to the point it goes back and re-writes the origin of spiderman or something i can't remember the full details but we all hated the idea raimi had of having sandman be uncle ben's killer yeah I remember. That's just what the hell. So you can see more now why I'm not giving a damn, it's like I've seen how these big studios like to play by now, if they can prioritize toy sales, they will. If they can try to lure fanboys like me to the theater with palps, lando, lots of nerdy stuff, they will. Focus on doing a better made story is not their intention and it wasn't, it's so clear it wasn't. I'm mad about it. Nothing about Carrie fisher's passing prevented them from doing some things better and that's what's so weird to think about... just didn't give a hoot...

Well I'm going to stop giving a hoot, and wow, here I am going on about a bunch of movies that I'll soon put behind me on the massive pile next to the Holiday special and Ewok Adventures. Why the f am I doing this?

What's eating away at me is that, I don't mind bad star wars. I really don't... and this is definitely bad star wars, but I wish it was MORE bad star wars not half way attempt at making a decent entry then a bunch of wink wink wink referrences etc. If you're going to make a bad star wars MAKE a bad star wars, commit to that. It's still enjoyable to watch bad star wars, the muppet show stuff, the parodies, spaceballs, having that star wars feel is what's important, not that it's legit. They just don't understand that and just make it like a suped up quasi attempt at being on Lucas' old movie's level.

Oh get out of here with that. What's fun about JJ's trek movies which will stand at the end of it all as superior to his star wars was that he didn't try to make trek movies as weird as that sounds. He took trek and just decided to make something comic bookish and spunky and new. That's why he was hired for this trilogy yet he completely went the opposite direction and tried to copy and paste the OT because he's scared of going off the rails with it. This dude...

Oh well, what's done is done, and I don't know if I want anymore, but yeah we'll see what's next. I and everyone else is baffled by this film. How can you consider it a conclusion to the story if it's been made clear palps is unkillable. Just ugh with this stuff...

The hell

Well nobody's lying. I will say that much. Those that hate it outright are right, those that find it good are also right.

It's a square down the middle unashamed fan film with a huge budget.

As a fanboy who's watched fan films about star wars for many years growing up, star wars kid vid, the dorkman vs ryan fight, thumb wars, f'n all that crazy crap we used to do, especially a lost hope film, best example of the fun star wars was in the old days...yes, I'm an oldbie now as we used to call old forum users. I've been around for decades on star wars messageboards, I've seen it all.

I say sure give it a look as a fanboy. I was thinking yanno it'd be too much like TFA with Abrams trying to force feed his lame characters on us but he didn't or was aware we didn't like them and just kept them as respectable if cardboard cut out characters who had to conclude their story somehow.

As an actual movie it's a mess and the best description is muddled. I liken it to John Carter of Mars or whatever else big dumb blockbusters come and go all the time from disney or, yeah most apt comparison is pirates of the caribbean. It's like watching one of those, lots of mediocrity mixed with bits of genius.

The worst thing about it is palpatine, but yanno I get it. JJ said fuck it and the movie's gleefully well aware it's just playing the same note EVERY fan fiction has played and almost winks at us in its lack of originality just to give Ian full reign of palps one last time. I wish it didn't. I wish Ian told JJ no, I respect palpatine too much to turn him into a farce, that kinda thing...

He didn't. He came back, he went and got killed again. The end?

Will I be paying to see this? No. I'm not wrong for wanting to skip off this one. It's a catch it on tv one day and say oh this is nice movie...

It's not worth it to go pay and all that, not to me. It doesn't finish the story and we still have  a billion questions about it all in the end, it had ONE JOB, finish the story and I can't say it did.

It's good though if you are a fan and those fan moments are good, very good, otherwise it's like a big clunky semi deranged slog through everything return of the jedi did already.

I'm indifferent to it as a lot of people are. It's neither the best star wars or complete failure, it just is and that's what we've gotten used to with the prequels. I'd have hoped for more than aiming for what the prequels accomplished, that's all the ST as it's called now ended up doing, matching the awkward misfire of the prequel trilogy without anywhere near the creativity and balls Lucas had.

I'm tired too. Just kinda tired of these Indy 4 kinda films where they just do it out of a last chance attitude. Got to not do that, that's all. Leave that shit to fan fiction and comics or whatever.

Oh, I'm just tired now... RotS burned me out never thought I'd end up back on that same old friggin point ever again yet here I am.

As for where this leads or goes now with the franchise. This might have done it no matter how decent a movie it was in spots, this might have caused the pot to boil over and we will see mass rejection of further disney star wars except for their tv and streaming stuff since that's actually quality... All I'm thinking is that they'll need to kinda ignore the ST in the future, ironic too since they've been content ignoring the PT for a while now, there's nothing from the ST I personally care about or need anymore and it will be remembered as about as much as we all remember star trek's sequels and misfires. I'd have hoped star wars was above that. It wasn't.

Should I finish what I began?

I'm posting again due to this being it, the final film in the series EVER. I do need to think deeply on my life and how it's gone to lead to this moment. In merely one day the last star wars movie will be out.

I mean I was there when the "real" last star wars movie came along.

Let me tell you about it... it's what I lived for. I felt nothing towards anything in life but waiting for RotS.

In all honesty, RotS was truly more about finishing what I began as a 13 year old watching phantom Menace than wanting to see yet another George Lucas directed star wars. By that time I'd woken up to the reality that the man had his limits and wasn't all powerful and was better suited in producer/writer position.

So I feel a deep sense of deja vu here. All the people going crazy with hyperbole nowadays, it's different than when RotS came out. Back then we all didn't have this haterade mentality because we were sad. This was it, 6 films, no more. We're done. And in that sense RotS was a true celebratory film overall and it filled that purpose. It was bloated, a mess, full of fan service nonsense, yet it was lucas making star wars for the last time and it was fun decent film so it was celebrated and we relished in the moment a moment we honestly didn't believe we'd see. The prequels are a failure on many fronts but a goddamn fascinating journey and for that I'll always be greatful.

Can I look at TroS that way too? Should I? Lucas is not involved, this is essentially like making a big deal out of the latest EU thing or tv show with no Lucas input or anything.

I've been going over the film like a madman trying to gauge the thoughts on it and where they will sync with mine.

I'm getting PT feelings all over this film, too hollow not well planned, the irony is incredible. So it's basically a star wars prequel level film? Is it wrong for being that?

Can you legitimately argue a star wars film is wrong for being too close to something Lucas himself would have made? Oh man what a can of worms I've opened.

Nothing is drawing me to go see it. Read a little further on lando's role, apparently not that involved? not that important, just there to say hello since they neglected him? Oh get out of here with that shit.

I'm deeply unmoved by the cast and characters. They are props and toys in a video game level that is JJ's action scenes. Got no interest in their story yet they're constantly pimped in the films as if they matter and are vital, so nuts. And yeah that's why they were background wallpaper in TLJ which was made by a person who's kinda an actual film maker not a toy seller. Sorry for that movie, always reading some jerkass pretending it's a massive disaster or something. I'm not sure what's motivating those people, rival studio plants or something, oh yeah we're there these days, corporate politics is going on all the time now online, welcome to this backwards ass day and age.

It's like I'm at war with myself. Yet again, Ian is returning one last time as Emp, that's what was great about RotS and here we are again and apparently he's still alive or something or whatever, but he's half why the prequels were any good, his story his brilliant perfect portrayal of the emp. Hard not to want to see him again all things considered, essentially he's the only reason many will want to go see this thing. But that story of the emp is so done right?

Yeah I have to agree, would have been more ballsy to go a new direction with it, yunno. Don't do the emp story retread, make it about something which I thought it was gonna do from the trailers, Rey going dark side. Now that would have been a fascinating film. Not this safety net thing they hobbled together by committee Star Wars by commitee... Come the hell on, Padme said she doesn't like those in Phantom Menace, Jesus watch the movies...

What does disney care, they want money right? People are dumb right? Laser Swords, lots of cool cgi, billions in the bank, done.

Ok, yanno what, I'm not gonna do it. I'm not supporting it. I want them to finally reconsider the franchise they're fucking around with. This ain't matrix, spidey, xmen, transformers. This ain't men in black. This ain't even Star Trek. It's the Holy God of all Summer Blockbusters. You have to care.

Ok I'll compromise I guess, bootleg the damn thing watch a bit, if it's not the trainwreck it's being made to be by jackass trolls in many comment sections then I'll feel bad for bootlegging it (yeah shocker I'm not totally evil) and pay and go collect the stub. It's just let me say this and then you'll understand what's my reason. I paid for a JJ star wars already. It was ass. I paid for that. I feel my money for TLJ was more justified than, hell my money for Avatar was more justified than that goddamn flimsy film.

Oh I mean come on, I paid for dark fate and genysis, I'm gonna bootleg away, it's all going to balance out, come on...

Star Words

read up on the movie's premiere and initial thoughts or whatever... but first tho

Got to say boy do people have a lot of time on their hands or what. The mob hit job on The last Jedi that's going on is just weird shit to read and see continue for apparently years. I began thinking, oh that's just cute some bitch on youtube is acting hyperbolic and fake ranting about the movie like it hurt her personally, then I see this same fake rage bullshit repeated endlessly for months, now going years. What a sad bunch of lonely pathetic people in this world taking massive shits on all of us through their computers.... oh my... should have kept video uploading the snail's pace that it used to be... now it's become a shitstorm.

Yeah I mean, ok, you want to accomplish what exactly? Clickbait? Sad motherfuckers...

Oh you're going to see the clickbaiter army out in full force in regards to this movie give it a few weeks. OMG (takes time to photoshop arrow pointing at something because it's whut de udder vidz dew) new movie has a thing that explains a thing or something, proceeds to ramble about something that's blatantly obvious.

I'm sorry but it's just wow, I don't know what to say, there's a lot of just moronic crap going on in the internet today that's pointless and the people making these dumbass vids can all go screw off please. Nobody needs the clickbait scams, get a damn job.

I've kinda spoiled the movie for myself I guess, I mean the spoilers I read I more or less figured out already from what I've predicted. Fuck, I don't know, on the fence about seeing it, and considering nothing I expected to happen is going to go forward, why spend money on it...

Basically it's being viewed as a JJ abrams movie that's more in line with TFA and that's a huge turn off. But what did you expect... he's JJ Abrams, he's a competent workman director. What the f.

I mean I don't know Lando's fate, I did not spoil that. I do know kylo's fate but not the specifics of it.
I have yet to understand much about palpatine's story but his connectiong to Rey is indeed a major dissappointment to me. And it's like weird that that's only NOW becoming significant, very messy writing I guess.

overall I'm sorry. I'm sorry for myself for believing it was going to go anywhere great. I hyped myself up too much. It's all going to land on fan film territory in the end. Take it or leave it I guess.

And that's the question, go pay big money for a fan film made to make money off of the legit legendary star wars brand name? Oooooh dare I not.... dare I stay loyal to Lucas my God.

I love star wars. It is the franchise that holds the greatest meaning to me. Period.

I don't want to support this Space Balls thing. It's tough to say that but it's not star wars and it most likely never will be looked upon as such... I'll pack up and step out, so sorry to say that. ;/

You were unbalanced. Bested by a franchise that never held a Snoke. You FAILED.

crazy huh

I really should ignore twitter, I tell myself a lot of things. We as a society today are far too innundated with information. I shouldn't even talk about it, I left that world behind and I try my best not to concern myself with whatever the blue farts is happening in today's kid-world but it's kinda interesting to look at it and think about it. I got put through fight club that was the school system growing up. I absolutely think it's a rancid waste of time and only helps turn normal people crazy and think school has got to be demolished and forgotten as the ancient obsolete useless thing that it truly is. It will, times have changed drastically, we can do school digitally if necessary, whatever. Just don't stuff young rowdy people in a box for hours and hope that works, it's as they say, prison-lite... I don't condone that, and I've had my problems with it, but living life making money, being around big boobed females at work who I could enjoy looking at instead of a bunch of dumbass dipshits, it's been a smarter way to live.

So what's got my interest today, some white boy on a bus getting into fights with some girls. I'll tell you this from my perspective as a kid going to school on the daily florida bus. Yes, it's happened to me. White kids down there are going to playfully push the black kid's buttons every chance they get and do the whole subtle racism crap. I mean, it's the reality. I knew kids of all colors going to school in florida, some white kids were indifferent to the racism they witnessed, didn't give a fuck about it and I glanced over to one kid who basically gave me a "sorry about them" look when two girls were picking on me on the bus.

You think it's a vid about some innocent boy being jumped by the gangster girl club or some shit (that's another point to make, how hard can a f'n girl even hit...) but the interweb storm that's being blown up over this does get to me.

Stuff like this happeneds on the daily in those buses at those schools. Back in my ancient ass times, we just didn't film it, and you know what? Yes I experienced stupidity from some white kids at school in florida. Guess what? I'm here, I'm going about my life. It didn't own my existence. Shit like this happens then people realize life is bigger than that one day at school...

I'm sad we've devolved into this media tribal society bullshit, sad... lost a lot of that 'tough it out' persona we used to believe in or at least I did.

I hope it doesn't go over the deep end and we do not become too tribal and lacking the ability to have common sense or maybe we're already there, I don't honestly know. Look at the blow up over the stuff it makes me think a lot of things. Ok this looks bad, the kkk just got their new recruitment video...

That too is something that bothers me, because it impacts me. Every time these damn things happen blacks behaving badly or whatever, it's going to get magnified and looked at as reflective of all blacks. No two black people are the same. get that shit through your skulls. There is no "black people" we're individuals and crap just like you.

Anyway I felt sorry for the kid who got whooped by some girls then I saw the other video the one they were'nt showing where apparently he's up to no good and harassing the girls months prior so I'm like, oh there it is. It's about something deeper. I mean when I got into fights, it's me fighting back against some idiot who's got his brain on backwards, I can't say what the truth is but if you just started recording with me going nuts on some jackass you'd think I was the bad guy, all I'm gonna say. I don't care that much anyway they'll all forget that dumbass school that dumbass bus and that dumbass day years from now... moving on...

As for what the hell I'm up to, got some plans for things I want to do, still trying to study more martial arts and improve. I'm not even doing it because of the action expo believe it or not, easy to think that but I've been into it since forever, just didn't have the knowledge about what to do which thankfully they have quite a lot of info on online.

It's tough. There will be pain. I'm wondering to myself how much I can take, but I'd like to be able to f'n do a really sweet sequel to static shock or a last dragon thing with actual great looking fighting so I'm training towards that.

That's the goal, get into beast mode type of shape, that's the end goal.

Piano is coming along thanks to my discovery that memorizing things comes through retrieval not repetition.

Look it up, it's true. Your mind simply put prioritizes what it "needs" so you have to trick your bain into thinking you need to remember something.

That's it, lastly will I be checking out rise of skywalker? I don't think I will. Unless it's chalked up to be the second coming, I know what JJ is capable of and I'm not into what he can do, no.

I don't care about the new cast, don't really want to continue supporting this limp meh series. Mandalorian is great tho. Should release that in theaters, call it a day.

Ghostbusters Trek Next Generation

shit just got real...

New actual sequel to the ghostbusters (Ghostbusters 2 was my first ever movie EVER if I haven't made that clear)

I'm actually down for this, though it has some issues.

The ecto 1 was augmented in GB2 so it wouldn't look like that in the trailer, they've obviously got some explaining to do on that front.

But their heart is in the right place and hopefully this isn't going to be a stupid cash grab based on the franchise name alone.

Would love to get more info about it who's doing what, etc. Why the flying bananas would Egon store nuclear powered proton packs and ghost equipment in a farm house. He's a genius, he'd build an underground storage or something, just awkward. I guess I can tear the trailer apart all day, I'll try to focus on the positives.

It's got a bit of that goonies essence, so I'm guess they wanted goonies meets stranger things, meets ghostbusters, could work but gb comes down to characters. You can't have gb without really good characters that are iconic, and I'm yet to view the new crew that way.

Let's all be honest with ourselves this is Extreme GB the movie they're making. It's the same plot, and the new girl gb is essentially a rework of the kylie character. Out of the wonky mess that was EGB, Kylie worked well for me. Her goth girl felt organic to the gb franchise and making her egon's grand daughter would have been perfectly in line. I mean it's interesting at least, yeah they're going with a female gb, she does seem a lot like kylie so if that's sthe inspiration, perfect. No opinion on the other kids have no clue who the f they are.

And they have to nail that. Often with these next gen movies they suck dragon ballz at making the characters worth shit, just being honest. If they don't stick the landing on that, it's gonna be a big fail.

Not very much humor, I'm trying to focus on the positive, but they do remember it's a comedy right? Gotta show us it's full of jokes too. I'm on the fence, but hopeful in the end. GB matters to me, I want them to do it right, and maybe make this into something bigger, get gb back on top of the world again.

shenmue getting ripped all day

Kinda sad about it, I mean anyone who's somewhat knowledgeable about pc games knows hackers will rip prettymuch any game some point or emulate it, only a matter of time and persistence. So of course shenmue is on all the piracy sites leaving no one a true reason to purchase it. I will out of loyalty but that sucks, its sales are doing poor numbers since no one needs to buy it, and I do blame the way pirates do things, sure but also blame the company for not making an online fighter component built into shenmue that would force you to need a real copy for you to get to enjoy it, or just allow people to rent the game for a few days. I rented shenmue 1 from blockbuster played it beat it, gave it back afterwards, do the same with this one. I hope it is rentable or part of a rent service, let me take a look...

Only on ps4 which can't be ripped anyway, so there you have it, stepped on their own toes by not trying to prevent piracy hard enough. Oh that's crazy stuff. Shenmue 3 might be the last one we get forever since who's going to want to support non profit game making...

It shouldn't come down to backyard crowd funded indie game level nonsense for shenmue, that's just nonsense. It's the game that gave birth to a whole generation of open world games, we'd simply not have them all if shenmue didn't attempt the giant leap to the next level.

Just sayin, it's messed up stuff... I think down the line it'll turn a profit for sure, right now considering what has been said about it and it's non-advancement of the plot, then yeah maybe begging 60 bucks for it is outrageous. You can find better for that money. It's a dif world now, yanno. Used to be some collectors value to owning the actual physical copy of the game etc. Nice box art, inserts, sometimes a full poster or map. So the full 50 dollar price had some kind of meaning to it, but to pay that much for a download, absolute nonsense.

Biggest mistake I've personally made paying full price for both star wars games I got. I mean wow, had no clue BF2 would be a giant mess of a game with constant updates and tweaks and essentially they released a beta kept developing the game month after month trying to fix the messy garbage they put out. Disgraceful and that's without hyperbole, they've been nothing but complete clowns in charge of a massive star wars game, and I dread playing it, just waiting for the next glitch or unbalanced unfair thing.

So it's understandable why people would pirate it first, there's no demo out to get to try it. We have games that are relased full premium deluxe price that are only half finished, no one wants to waste their money on these failures anymore. Apparently shenmue is not fully cooked either with many finding it to be less than fun to slug through than typical... wow, goddamn, don't know how I'm going to wait until the price drops but that's when I'll buy it, I'm not pulling down the big bucks so forget it, no full price for me and it's just hilarious to watch the prices for these games drop to like nothing dollars after initially selling for some inflated amount...

So the trial and the stuff going on and the impeachment and the thousandth thing that will finally get rid of this dumbass in charge of nukes.... how's this all coming along? As usual I find myself feeling like there's a real chance to get rid of this big fart but then those who have the option slip and miss the target as I actually kinda thought would happen, it did. Won't go into details but they're tripping over themselves rather than just being careful enough not to give the bad guys a foot to stand on in this stuff. Oh well, press on, eh. I don't have much knowledge about things, but yeah I do think people with power need to be checked and balanced, if they step out of line, do something... simple.

Haven't we had enough of this by now, the incompetence, the lies, the fake pictures of themself on top of rocky? When's this simpsons episode going to be over... It's not funny. The douche bag's never had someone smack him in the face in his life and tell him to fucking behave. So it's time to do it now.

could worrrk

got neck pain for some reason, gonna see about getting one of those damn my pillows, that shit might work...

watching kung fu movies now that I'm back into the habit these days and getting back into martial arts. I did work very hard as a kid at learning some stuff so to pin me as some complete scrub when it comes to it is just not gonna phase me one bit. I did the best I could with no formal training. Not my fault life went the way it did for me or i'd have done much more.

So it's apparently quite the skill takes years to master that stuff probably a waste to try to get good at this point as I'm getting all old and such.

Don't know the answer to that, maybe so. Maybe I'm over the hill... don't want to believe it...

Too old to become a jedi, yes, yes...

heh, well besides my lingering doubts, I've made some progress with my ambitions to get a functioning stream of star wars working on one of these bigger tvs. I was just stumped about what method to employ, buy a new tv box stream through that, find a damn way to wire a lan line to the tv some how and hook up a cheapy cheap tv box or something... It's not just battlefront I want to do, it's the optimum streaming. I mean if I want tv channels to watch I can just find a streaming site, but optimum ap is legit, we're paying for it, no reason not to just use that and I do like just leaving it running and casually browsing chans. works perfect on my phone, no wifi drops, great picture, watch lots of stuff, get the news, excellent.

So I was thinking well, if I can't hook up a wifi dongle to the tv box (native wifi is a mess), oh boy I know, just use the phone to act as a wifi dongle... turns out it's "possible" but no one, NO ONE, has made a simple tool to just hack it all together and just run... I mean, the only one out there is 10 dollars and I can't even test it to know if it's real, but yeah so far I've come across complicated elite level coding crap to do it, and a paid app that's supposedly going to do it, something so simple and useful as hooking up your phone through usb to a tablet or whatever and tether them is a giant big huge leap to get done and will take a whole course in android and linux coding to figure it out... but eh, don't worry we got ya covered if you want to change your stupid battery icon or whatever, that crap they spent time working on...

sad to say the hacker scene is absolutely backwards full of nonsense. Like just the fact they don't put a simple on off button on these tv box things is clue number one they have their heads up their ass so firmly... wish I did some better research before purchasing one in such haste, it has a billion problems and just outright isn't made for much more than earning a cheap buck, but I do like that I can carry a gazillion movies and shows anywhere and it can emulate and run al ot of things so as much as it's a piece of garbage it's a useful piece of garbage that keeps me somewhat sane as I go along through a boring day...

Then I remembered i read a site say something about hooking the display up through usb and it just floored me that I didn't realize it already... so stupid. Just use the phone as a tv box, that's all these f'n tv boxes are, they're phones without the phone part.

So I feel like I'm done, right, i got the answer to my problems and yeah yanno it's over, no more bull shit.

well some more bull shit left for sure, but not too bad. I will be using my spare phone to act as a tv box, see how that works. I've already played a bit of steamlink on it and it ran very well at least for a game in the steam library, for battlefront, something got messed up. Don't know if it'll be any good at running non-steam games. Stupid world we live in where every game is bound to different crap.

Had no idea but should have expected that the simple act of using a phone's usb port to convert it to hdmi would be a confounding mess as well. with two different competing technologies trying to essentially do the same shit and different phones requiring one or the other, such asinine garbage. But that's electronics.

If this thing i bought works, which I doubt, we're in good shape anyway. Bought a usb ethernet adaptor too since in my mind, it's a good idea to own one in general and I can just get this darn thing to not be entirely a sad piece of malfunctioning junk and be able to use it to watch cable. The thought crosses to indeed see if there's some kind of plug and play functionality with a wifi dongle but for the love of GOD no one's made it clear in plain text which dongles work with it, it's a giant fucktrip to figure out what the hell you should get and sad sad sad to struggle reading through a bunch of dumbass threads about nothing and go around in circles with people saying essentially "maybe" "depends" fuuuuuuuuuuck me brother, just piss off if you have nothing concrete or substantial to add. Sucks to see so many people dedicated to being pointless and annoying on boards out there.

seems to be fine

Did some extensive testing to find out if the touchpad would stay stable, no seems to be good...

Going to keep an eye on it if it decides to go bonkers in the future. Reading about this bios update seems like as per usual big bad HP has actually broken things in its new bios so be cautious if you're on the newer models. I don't know if they did any underhanded changes to mine that might be throttling the cpu too much as others have made apparent in theirs.

Yikes, hate when the updates aren't tested by companies, they got to get their crap together, do better.

What's the plan from here forward for me. I don't know, but I want to get my voice in on the Last Dragon thing they're making. I might make my own Last Dragon video... Get that going... Got ideas for it anyway. Lots of tight close ups... I think that's a lost art. Today's movies are about showing off expensive sets, cgi, just putting on a big circus rather than the older more intimate way films were once done, especially 80s films. Like me personally it does aggravate to watch films and it's like 90% talking heads and no attempt at artistry.

Some stuff brewing for us Last Dragon fans... lots of good stuff that I hope to see go through and when I look out at the world today, it's like, there's nothing really like super upbeat and positive to kinda unite people these days. Nothing. Life is dead as a bag of dirt.

Am I going to get anywhere with my physical training and crap that i do these days. I mean I am having trouble to be honest. Nice to lose weight hard to stay motivated to lose it, hard to get off the ass and go stretch and get the blood flowing since I do indeed want to sit here and it's friggin freezing so it's not like it's good conditions!

But I try. It's like, yeah, got that drive in me to get in best shape possible before you lose it that kinda shit... I always dreamed of being big and jacked, I just never had the time to pursue it full on...

Might just get huge, should be interesting to finally fullfill that...

What else, yeah shenmue how's that going for people. I don't know... want to really trial the game before buying it. They really should let us fans f around in it for a while before purchasing it... see if we like it.

It's as I said it was. It's done like an old 90s game and todays' generation can't stomach having to deal with a non-compromising tough unforgiving DO or DIE kind of game that we got like water back in those days...

Am I right?

I kinda am interested in the challenge see if I can take the pounding that game has in store, but some thigns are putting me off. Some claiming stuff is too boring to do, which if you play shenmue, that's the series so what the hell did you think it'd be? Like right now I am exausted beyond wanting to go and screw around more in shenmue 2, it's a massive game so much to go through, i need to literally re-energize before tackling it again... though I'm happy that I got the hardest move scrolls in the game to get through sheer will power. I just some how never gave up though finding it tedious and stupid to keep doing it. I kept at it, some how I don't know, I'm going to wildly guess that's how you really get the scroll, eventually after the fucking thousandth try the game gives it to you for free just for showing such fortitude? Cuz it was like that, failure failure failure, but I just kept going, then the miracle happened.

Good or bad game design? Some would argue overly challenging games are bad game design, but it's how you truly learn what kind of gamer you are in my opinion. A casual or a serious one. I'm mostly casual, but the amount of pure struggle I've gone through to win levels, yeah I feel confident saying I'm qualified to be considered serious. It's a test of that to me, and if it were easy like today's bullshit games, it'd simply be an interacive movie. Goddamnit, i mean that win, getting that win, it simply means more when it's against a real challenge, come on, jesus christ... simple logic.

Debating what to spend money on as well... it's tough to make sense of this black friday thing. I do want to finally play games in HD maybe even UHD but that money is tight right now, boy. I mean I did throw 700 dollars at this very computer and it has been, well at least now, a great purchase. I'm playing shenmue on it, running ps2 and gamecube games on it, on top of that, did all those last dragon drawings on it plust potentially could go further and really get going on some more ideas I've come up with... but I mostly use it to game and practice piano... forgot to dabble on some music tonight, just not in the mood...

But yeah the thing I want is to get a tv box put it on the 1080p tv we already got and just stream my game to that tv over wifi or lan whatever, problem solved. We have several tvs but I haven't figured out how to get anything casted over to them for gaming. So been messing around with the steam thing allows remote play. Seems ok problem is network play will cause slow down obviously since it's having to deal with all the back and forth traffic from online and local. Tough to say if it'd merit the purchase if I can only play star wars battlefront in 720p to accomodate the bandwidth limitations... But I might just go with a cable hook up to the router itself and then it should be blazing fast, no problems. I think I'll explore this further later, so see you then...

Fixed this comp

I can't post my results to the whole reddit thing. I honestly don't get what reddit is exactly, it's like very popular but for reasons I can't understand. It's just another of a billion websites that do the same thing provide a space for discussion and votes on postings. Why's that make it this big deal? Shrugs... Don't geddit...

well if anyone else is an owner of a hp spectre x360 convertable laptop. Let's call these things what they are instead of the many stupid names people have given them. Tabtop or Laplet. One f'n word not the confusing and tough to type ones... geez. So hard to do search for one since not only does the company make a hundred dif versions of it, but there's no standard title for this design. You just have to take a shot in the dark and hope the search tags work out... well I think I solved the issue with mine, a I believe 2017 13inch little clunker of a machine.

It has a flaw one that has lead to many many many discussions and tutorials. Any time it's plugged in the cpu goes turbo and forces the fans to run constantly to cool it down. It's not game breaking but yeah, def not how a comp should do things. So I generally don't plug it in if I don't have to since I couldn't stand the over heating. Little sucker just goes nuclear with no provocation if you get me, just straight to highest fan speed and heat, some considering it a combo of high voltage from the charging and so on, but I didn't buy that. I've been messing with electronics a long time. Batteries don't get that hot that fast, don't think so.

So I did a lot of things to try to fix it and I'm talking early this year. Nothing worked, still a sad wacky malfunctioning expensive junk. but then I decided to try again despite having nothing work. Oh to my shock HP has updated my laptop's bios just a few months ago. Long after I originally looked for a solution... so I say, whatever decided to update...

now the thing's acting normal. literally right now as it's plugged in and I'm doing something like typing like this, it'd be going berserk and over heating. Not anymore....

So there it is, I guess some companies try to fix older abandoned machines sometimes. Or enough owners complained that they finally addressed it? I don't know, they seemed to have not cared and honestly that's what these companies do. They make a product sell it full of design flaws, and typically concentrate their energies and focus on the next version rather than work out the kinks in the ones people actually bought already.

Well anyway just wanted to let people know it's a good machine once it's fully updated. If you come across one and think it's a bad purchase because of certain issues it has been documented to have, it has been fixed and will be ok. Mine works now, have not tested the glitch with the touch pad going off permanently after a long stay in tablet mode so still need to test that... yep, still more problems with this thing but the game breaker for me was the over heating, so that's nice that I don't have to worry bout that shit.

entering the dragon

Am progressing through shenmue a game I've beaten twice, why bother going through it again... Yanno, it's tough to say why I do anything that i do in life, just following my heart I guess. I feel it's right to drudge through both games again this time attempting to find all the secrets.

Interesting to read and watch reviews of the new game comparing it to the many shenmue inspired clones that have come and gone and some considering those to be better in some aspects. Maybe... I don't know, haven't attempted any of them. Is shenmue 3 too retro, should they have made it more modern with all the excessive overdone stuff we have in today's hand holding pussy ass games we get nonstop these days.

I don't know what's frustrating these reviewers who want the game to be made like today's nonsense. But just playing shenmue 1 again I forgot how ball busting some stages are in that game, but that was typical of 90s games. They gave no fucks, if you couldn't find a miracle to win them, no dice.

Today I mean yeah there are still tough games but it more or less comes down to tedium having to deal with hordes of enemies or poor game design not deliberately crafted difficulty which was the MO of classic old games, even mario was going to destroy you back in the old old mario days, even that shit crushed your spirits and made you want to toss your nintendo out the windo.

I mean I wanted to give up at points in shenmue 1, but I kept fighting, kept walking into the pit of hell and just kept losing again and again... Haven't had a game do that to me in a very long time. Then it happened. I figured out the right patterns to give myself a chance and I struggled and beat the dude. Now of course I know he's not the worst I've fought and beat. That still awaits me in shenmue 2 but it taught me to push on through anyway. Corny as it sounds. It's simply  because I didn't let "give up" take over in my mind that I proved I could do it... That's great gaming. And yeah the stage is poorly designed and tough for reasons you yourself have to adapt to and learn to deal with, but I mean, that's 90s gaming. Half of the games back then had shit in them you had to adapt to and adjust to and use your brain to calculate how to solve all the wonky design problems and bugs. Super Star Wars, hell I can name a billion star wars games where you just had to figure out how to hack the game using the game itself to some extent in order to survive it. Mario Kart can be unfair as hell if you don't know how to manipulate the track itself and learn proper sliding to gain an advantage, etc. it was up to you in the end is all I'm saying. They pumped out so many games so fast with so many bugs, what an insane test of will power those were...

I remember playing like a jedi on some levels. Not even thinking, just going through the motions letting go of all conciousness and letting just the reflexes do all the work. They don't make those games anymore.

Or maybe that's what shenmue 3 demands. You play like you did on old systems. I don't know yet. Will be cointinuing to look into people's thoughts, I don't think people have beat it yet, must be a big ass game...

Saw Harriet too

Last day it's going to be cheap at the theater so I said, do or die, and went to it. Once again trying to in some way watch something that isn't the same old same old stuff, though I'm not a big fan of slavery films. Saw f'n Cloud Atlas not having a clue it was a damn slavery film, got hoodwinked.

What do I think about the whole race mess all that stuff. I mean it's so beneathe my sensibilities. I grew up with all of the colors. I don't really have the mental immaturity built in to think of racism as a serious subject, even less so now that I'm more invited into the white world and see who white people are prettymuch all the time now.

So no, I don't even like to dwell on the subject. It's dumb, it's like thinking about whether the earth could really be flat or not.

There is still to this day race stuff going on and it's so sad. I do feel bad thinking about it, how yeah people segregate themselves and fear each other and power trip over each other, it's saddening. It's a bunch of political cluster fuck, that whole subject. I don't want anything to do with it and try to enjoy my life since like it's like going to be f'n done one day as is evident by my own father's decline in health and such.

Life is done before you know it if you're not smart about it...

Star Wars was always my concept of race if you ever wanted to know my mentality. It'd be a fine day when we as a society just did stuff like star wars.

Anyway, fine film. Very strong, doesn't sugar coat slavery, makes clear it was barbaric shit that went down back then. What I found most interesting and is always fascinating about movies like this is the relationships between the slaves and slave owners. Haven't seen Jango yet but I will come around to it. So it sets up that there might be some genuine feelings between Tubman and her master's son who both grew up together. I'm sure that there are real stories of that where slave owners kids grew to be friends with the slave kids, need a movie about that stuff. So you do start to understand the slave owner's son's story and fears and sympathize with his dilemas. It does make me wonder what the civil war was about, keeping slavery a thing, or keeping the plantations from going bankrupt and rich slave owners not wanting to lose their status in society. All that is lightly touched upon but not delved into. Ultimately the slave owner's son is pure devil in the end, no chance at redemption. But yeah no one is perfect in this film which is what I liked. It shows there were blacks who were uncle toms looking for a buck, probably the most true and utterly ridiculous thing to ever happen in history but neverless still going on today. The Uncle Tom blacks who apparently don't give a giant shit about having freedom and rights and just want to be a pet to their overseers. I've worked with those guys, I mean you see it in politics, it's real.

Takes balls of steel to fight for black people, so I guess I can understand why some don't bother and instead chuck and jive. I just wish it wasn't that way...

It's also true that hollywood is making slavery films to put blacks in their place in hollywood and give white actors an escuse to use the N-word and make blacks feel slavery's their greatest most important identifying factor... so I mean, the film's got some baggage to it in the end, and it's why I'm not into slavery films. I just don't think more can be said. It sucked, black people didn't like it. Can we move on?

Makes ya think, the way this world's being run, makes ya goddamn think... will be finishing shenmue 1 and 2, then get going on 3...

Been waiting and it's time to finish what my little boy self started.

thoughts on black and blue

Wow, underrated good little movie. Felt a lot like new jack city with its social commentary. in fact that's probably exactly what the film maker was going for a spike lee or new jack city type of film.

Interesting look at the black perspective on police antagonism towards blacks and the brutal reality that wrong place wrong time, your black ass is dead when it comes to cops.

Where's the lie?

Read a bunch of reviews before seeing the film trying to gauge what the thoughts were before throwing money at it. I can see the negatives they point out, yeah that stuff is there, but they obviously ignored the positives for the most part. Tyrese is phenominal in it. Pure understated realistic performance. He's got more to him than the michael bay clown show he had to do. Great stuff.

But yeah I recommend it. Why did I go see it? I can't even say why... movies like this come and go all the time, I don't get off my ass and go look, but I guess I'm getting tired of it, seeing some movie about some damn same old stuff about some white people doing things, wanted to watch a black centric story... it was surprisingly a very strong film. Obviously saw a few re-writes and stuff during production and was to me like the reviews have said a little too shallow, but go back and watch new jack city. Have any mainstream reviewers actually watched old black movies, like, ever? This quick get to the point style is what they did.

Well I got the messages within it and liked how it was done, it's trying to point the lense at the way things are, not provide a solution.

I also met sorta the actress in it at the Action expo. Shiiit, my bad, I didn't know she was like that, making big money movies as well as tv shows. I would have probably not acted so oblvious to who she was. Oops...

Shenmue time

Will be kinda focusing on the monumental release of shenmue coming in a mere 6 days time. I will play through both games, find all hidden stuff I missed in my initial play through and such and what not then purchase and play shenmue 3 deluxe edition.

As for who I am in relation to shenmue. I was there when it came out, I still have the dream cast that I played it on. Yes, I know I'm an old ass man 33 years old and 1999 was a million years ago. I get it...

But yeah I can give you a history lesson on that year, how we all felt playing shenmue, having no clue of the absolute bomb that was going to drop in the wake of shenmue's proof that games like that could be made.

It's a full article you could write about the first few steps in gaming towards the open map go anywhere, total immersion idea. Shenmue was truly the first to try it.

To get the sequel at all was a dream us fans had and it's finally here, the story, the legend continues. I can only hope they will do a lot of things with shenmue now that there's a door opening up again to getting it back on track to becoming a true franchise that it deserved to be.

So what was going on in my head when shenmue dropped and I rented it at blockbuster for my dreamcast since gamestop and Adam Sessler and Kate Botello made a big deal about it so I said ok I better take a look at this thing...

Well I remember playing sonic on my dream cast and then I tried a few others specifically crazy taxi and I believe I might have had tony hawk 2, but the game that I was into most was Spawn and the demon's hand, to play a spawn game that good was just bliss. I was all about that game. Still am, still want to finish it.

The thing you have to understand is that shenmue is really at its root a multitude of games simply put into an open map you can wander around in. We've had rpgs, fighting games, driving games, asian cinema inspired games. Shenmue finally was the time when all of these were combined. And it came out at a time when asian cinema was starting to really get popular. I grew up watching asian stuff here and there if it ever happened to air on tv, I looked forward to laundry day as a kid since they seemed to always show asian kung fu flicks on sunday afternoon so that was when I got to see those jet li movies etc. and did my laundry while watching that.

Ah ha, but you couldn't play it. The only kung fu ninja game was tenchu stealth assassins, other than that, which was a revolutionary game in itself, not much besides fighting games like mortal kombat.
So when shenmue dropped it really was all by itself. There was no yakuza series, sleeping dogs, none of the copy cats that came after.

It's basically what I think we all wanted as fighting game fans, a game where you'd play street fighter as ryu and fight then go train for a while then go walk around etc. Not just fight fight fight, but other stuff... and it catered to that. And it was at the right time when kung fu cinema was popular. The game did well, but unfortunately it was released on a sinking ship. Sega spent too much money and just didn't in my opinion dedicate time to online play like they should have. I mean I think the true demise of the dreamcast came when the Ps2 prettymuch future proofed itself with an ethernet port built in. Other than that, the dreamcast wasn't some punk system, it should have lasted way longer and we should have gotten a dreamcast 2 but sega spent too much on things and had no choice but to bow out...

So about the open map idea. Rpgs kinda have been doing that for a while. I never thought of that as particularly revolutionary. Play some old ass rpg and there it is, a game where you can go anywhere, the idea isn't new. And I did glance some kinda text based choose your adventure games on commodore 64 when me and my sister used to try those games out. So again not new the concept of diverging storylines based on your choices. But none of this was ever done in a full 3d environment despite us having the tech to do it for some time. Only one I can sort of think of is Mario 64. In some ways Mario 64 is the precursor to what shenmue would eventually get right. Yes indeed the time when I could finally just walk around and do nothing in a mario game, have freedom, that was pretty huge leap in gaming too.

Shenmue took it to a new level. Total immersion type of thing and I do understand some don't like the game, consider it too slow, too boring, and repetitive especially the jobs and races etc. I can only tell those who think that way, do you actually have a job? Shenmue was just being realistic about it...jobs are boring and repetitive. Yes that's what the developer wanted to do, make you feel like you had to go do a boring job, make you feel what Ryo was feeling... Susuki is no idiot.

I do agree that the QTE is silly though and sadly lead to a lot of dumbing down of the button combo system in many games after. Since shenmue did it, other games thought stupidly that they needed QTE too, but that's not gaming, that's guitar hero or some stupidness like that. I'd like to have to develop some skill rather than quick repetitive reflexes instead. Other than that I can't agree with any complaints towards the series. It's tough, it's brutal, old school no punks, man up and get good gaming like I had as a kid before we all got these soft wimpy bitch games today.

Gaming's gone to hell, that's why we are excited a real game maker from the gritty tough old days is coming back. You'll see, people will flock to a game that doesn't treat you like you're a 5 year old and of course we've all been waiting for the next chapter in the story. It's an old story though so I don't know how it's going to hold up this many years later. That's the only thing that concerns me, we've gotten so many new things since shenmue did its thing, games that allow us to have full online open world adventures, more modern stories about today's world and tech like that one about hacking phones or something to solve crimes. All I'm saying is that gaming has changed, I mean essentially we have swimming and stuff in games vs the days of shenmue when you couldn't hope to do that, destructable environments, drivable cars, aircraft, millions of options now. Will people want to sit and play a more old school traditional dreamcast style play by yourself single player game. I know I can, but today's punks out there, I don't know... They're missing out if they don't that's fo sho.

Went to the Last Dragon Anniversary

Decided to sleep on it rather than just brain fart out my thoughts directly after the predictably chaotic awkward experience that is these kinds of cons. I'm used to it by now, that feeling of wtf am I doing standing around with these people I don't know. Let's go beyond that...

Enlightning as hell day. Yeah, surprised me that Jai was there for hours. He's legit very busy right now, got no time to be hanging with fans who want to exploit his fame, but the man honored his word and was there for the fans for waaaay longer than the spawn anniversary which was a blip. If I had missed him there, I'd have caught his autograph and photo op this time for sure but my real intention was to celebrate spawn with him and I did that, so I wasn't persuing him at all, he just showed up and gave great advice and stories during panels.

Honestly I have to say I don't think they know what power these community gathering events have on black youth. That's a point I want to make. We don't have heros is the theme that's constantly present and is why they started doing this. And it's true. It might be a long day and burdensome, but giving people like me hope that I can see myself as a hero in cinema, and ultimately HOPE that I can have a decent existence in this world, is just severely needed. I don't think they know the magnitute of what it means to go and see powerful strong black heros in a good honest way both in life and on screen. It's no small thing.

About Last Dragon.

I want to make this about that film, and it's what got me into going to these expos so of course I'm going to discuss it majorly. It's just still amazing to me to be wowed by seeing a character like Bruce Leroy. It shouldn't. I mean, think about it. I can go see a lot of movies today and be seeing some typical hollywood hero teen or whatever tackling some adversary. Spidey or Kickass or supey or like all of them, just all mainstream hollywood...

The movie's great on its own regardless of race, but that black soul it has is so strong and exotic that it knocks you out with how different and unconventional it is to see a black lead for a change. Maybe it's an illusion of greatness since it's just not the norm and goes against the grain of what we're typically fed, but yeah we all are attracted to it simply because it is oil in the water of the film world we know.

I'm attracted personally because I am Bruce Leroy. I'm just watching myself when I watch that movie. I've been a weirdo black kid martial arts and fitness nut forever. Finding that film was like finding myself.

It's still important and may forever be important as that one awkward hair going against the flow of the other hairs in the world of films...

And that's it. I did a lot of stuff all in one day. Congrats to Jai the new black dragon. Taimak, thank you for being so open about the film this time, incredible Q and A at the end, learned so many details on the inner workings of the classic and how it came together. Certainly was to me special to sit amongst fellow fans and just talk like people, no pomp and celebity bullshit. That's what was going on all day to be honest, all that hollywood mask shit was gone. Nobody bullshitted. Just spoke like people, no body gave a shit about putting the happy chuck jiving negro mask on and who knows why but part of me was delighted by that 'realness'

Well... Looking forward to the sequel series as it's long overdue and deserved it far more than a lot of other movies that got sequels nobody asked for. That's it, got work today try to bite into all the money I spent, then who knows what the future holds.... I don't have a definitive plan.

Oh and that's kinda goes to my point about going to these cons and such. Yeah gotta have a game plan. Just the whole "show up" idea doesn't fly. I did that like that this time since I wasn't really thinking I needed to be thinking that far ahead, but my advice going forward. Never jump into these things without a clear goal or plan. I didn't know what to do with my self half the day and because of that missed out on doing things asking questions and seeing films and just was spinning around aimless... I look back on that and realize it was a mistake to not have a set clear idea of what I wanted to do.

Gonna do one last pass

Should be interesting. Kinda strange nobody gave a hoot about my stuff. Maybe I didnt hash tag it right. That messes ya up a bit yeah putting effort into something good and pure then crickets afterwards. Thats not right but I can take it. Ha maybe switch over to the black dynamite vip event. Oh too late now.

Nevermind... Nevermind. Gonna do what I think is right... Ive met both my idols already so thats done. Gonna be other celebs there tomorrow to bother. Should be worth it.

Edit:

All of the finished stuff, now I'm truly done, enjoy do whatever with them, don't really give a toss. I'll see ya at the theater tomorrow and be there all damn day.

one last experiment, ok now I'm done...

End time

Can't think of much else to do with these. I've adjusted and played with the last image I wanted to expermiment on and since that's all done, well gonna do the final fixes on all deez shits and then it's time to pop em off into the wide web or whatever.

Learned quite alot about tablet art at substantial mental cost, law of equivilent exchange or something. It is a giving process, making art, you must give your own soul to it and it's a burden to live with that effort. It's never just boom boom boom done, you're playing god afterall, creating, it's a lot of drainage on the brain's batteries. Which is why I don't do this often, but hey, the time is right here.

Busted as hell, so much work, so much time crunching to mold something decent out of all this... Anyway, will be posting them on my twitter thing, the wonderful living hell that that thing is, and facebook, and I mean, my stuff ain't professional but Last dragon tribute might appreciate what I did. It's labor of love.

I'll be at the UAE this sat, see what the heck is going on... Jai going to be there for max 3 minutes then go back to shooting outlaw, but I'm gonna hang out with taimak, paid money so he better have some good ass stories about the daily shoot and not be so reticent about it this time. I watched all the vids of the last anniversary, I know they had a big celebration, sad I missed it... damn, nobody said anything about it, would have gone for sure... but that's life right...

show off time

did this despite breaking a nib on this bamboo ink thing, amazing how you drop a digital stylus the only one you have that works and it falls exactly in such a way that the nib breaks off. How extraordinary a chance that can happen... luckily they provided spares in the box or I'd be screwed and have no choice but to post pone or cancel all my current stuff...

but the show still goes on.

It's meh ok, i guess... not all that but whatever. Sick of playing with it, it's my feet wet kinda thing. Just wanted to acclimate myself to shading with this program. Not fun to do from this novice standpoint but once you warm up and get grooving you just know where to go and what to start smoothing out.... not liking the lettering, will be fixing those...add more clouds too... but the airbrushing is so great and seems to just bring it to life and work so well. great stuff. yeah not a bad finish. I dread working on the big harder one but so be it, gotta grind that out. here we gooooooo

Update:
Oooh we having fun now...

Just spent a few hours doing a lot of coloring and experimentation, I think I'll leave the basic format of this alone. I want to go wild and do some cowboy bebop pop art stuff on it but, if I do that I'll change the game totally and it'll need a lot of adjustment to work...

Word to the wise, don't ever try to do the big league collages, it's murder... :/

I want to be optimistic and say today is the day this will be done and I'll do a massive twitter release of everything and submit them to last dragon tribute and all as planned. So yeah I'm hopeful. I've gotten better than average with sketchbook pro as far as layered coloring goes. It's something I've discovered needs planning. big spaces color first, tiny spaces leave for later, it's a lot to put into it.

Update:

Busted my ass on this one, hope didn't screw it up too bad... That's the lion's share of it I think, now it's just adjust and fix and stuff from here on out. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah, done with the long boring part, at last...

Update:

Ok well I think I'm very close to finishing these things. Just wanted to show the way I'm approaching the text on the big tough as balls collage piece that murdered my ass today. Looks like some 80s thing that's what I remember seeing a lot back then, they had a thing for trailing text stuff... I'm specifically refrencing masters of the universe which tried to rip off superman the movie's text and failed, but yeah I'm an 80s baby if you haven't noticed...

then there's this. Not hard to adjust and put in the glow stuff. Had a fun idea of throwing text in there on the boxes and junk.

Gotta give myself credit. I wanted to procrastinate but I knew it'd be a waste of time so I just brute forced my way through a lot of it today and toughed it out. Now it's just simple little things to do and we're finished with this mess... it's been a f'n beast but I guess if somebody likes it I did my job...

polish time

hate coloring, at least with sketchbook, true though coloring is tough in layers trying to keep track of what you're doing...

Oh well good luck dark fate.... I am neither all in or all out with this new T3, it's just a what if comic book they decided to spend millions on and relase world wide, ha ha, good luck with that...

Got work tomorrow so once that crap is done, come back here and polish and play with these things till they're done enough... I want to experiment with all kinds of ways to get it done, some with details and colors and others with kinda a dream-like no color style. We'll see how it all goes.

Terminator Super Nintendo

Saw it. Its a fan film. They can't think this is anything more than that, it's fanboy movie making youtube vid stuff. But anyway it's going to be divisive for sure. Such a late and truly exaustive entry in the series. People will hate it out of spite for merely existing as the last nail in the franchises coffin after several attempts to reawaken the corpse. I enjoyed it because its fine if you're like me and have the ability to imagine different diverging paths for the story... But i definitely feel its yet another pointless sequel to add to the pile and it will be viewed as such. Nothing else was possible with the story. No, you know what this movie is comparable to, Robocop 2. People calling it force awakens. So small minded. It's a lot like f'n Superman 4, robocop 2, like a damn disney sequel or something... I want to say Superman Returns but that's got none of the original cast in it so it doesn't count. But yeah imagine it as one of those flicks you might catch that maybe bring back one of the original characters from the first movie and the rest of the movie is about a dif character and new people... it's like those, uh dtv movies trying to capitalize on the name. If you want to get with it. Basically a mediocre sequel, take your pick there's a billion of them. It's not outright terrible but it it's not on the first movie's level and in this flick's case, it's like an aimless meaningless mediocre next chapter of a franchise we've seen before.

So this movie essentially Indy 4 asking us to view it on the same league as T1 and T2. Ha ha ha, no, no soup for you....

On its own, yeah it's ok. I don't hate Indy 4 on its own. It's got some merits but next to the classic 3, get out of here with that mess.

This ain't going to stand next to the first two. That aside. Hamilton is brilliant. Would have been fun to see her in a proper T3 and that hurts to know we'll never see that. So that's it, this is what happens after T2 if you want to take it as truth. I mean I guess yeah, some kind of ai eventually just popped up like out of somebody's ass somewhere. Oh and the thing with John, just get out of here with that shit, no. I'd prefer he met his fate in a way different way. That decision to create that drama there was not needed. Sarah hating terminators has been well established, probably one of the most hackneyed ways they've ever brought back arnold. the film would have been more interesting if he actually was just a man named carl who looks like arnold and helps them, the whole terminator that just wanders around aimlessly with no programing is a perfect metaphor for the frachise at this point and they simply seem to be oblivious to it?

It's a fan film. On par with T3. I feel like and truly have wasted oh... 16 years of my life dedicated to terminator sequels.

It's been a blast!

ate the whole plate

Mutha fn tired as hell cuz oxygen levels were so low in this room. One thing I learned the hard way, you don't properly ventilate your room, you'll slowly die really...

so I turned the fan up and although it's cold as f it's actually possible to breathe...

So here we stand, I now have my colors in place for the basic stuff. So looking at the costumes used in the movie, quite elaborately detailed. Makes doing this more of a task but I'll figure something out. I try to hold back my ocdness and not over-work on something to get to perfection, and it does bother me if it doesn't work right and I obsess over it, it's hard to control that but I honestly have no desire to get the minute details exact, no..

this will take a bit longer than anticapated, partially cuz Im lazy but also cuz I am learning as I go and have no idea exactly what I'm doing... I can hang with paint and gimp all day only programs I've got a grip on, not sketchbook and not tablet art though I can see why a lot of people love it. It's a massive tool box of potential without needing to spend on art supplies.

too tired

so I've gotten this far after a very long battle with myself to struggle starring at this blazing monitor all day, not something I like much, no.

Set myself up to get to the finish line tomorrow and fully finish the coloring. Whether I'll go forward and polish it and add glitz and gleam, neither here nor there, can't think about that till I'm looking at a colored in image.

Long day

It's about will power at this point. I am not into doing this but will struggle with the self motivation factor until it is finished I suppose...

For me this is taking so long not just cuz of lack of motivation... I'm learning as I go to figure out how to do this stuff. Never done coloring on multiple layers. Why approach it that way you might wonder? I do want to have some freedom to play with things when I start the shadow and highlights part, maybe paint over the black lines in parts, maybe do a complete change of color in one part or add texture patterns to the clothing which of course would be impossible without everything being transparent. It's been a lot of fail and figuring out what works for the last few hours and now I'm spent, but I can start seeing the finish line here and do intend to finish. Oh and above all else, I have to have layers since I want to have complete control over the background. That's the real point of it all. I want to just draw in anything without having to work around what's in front like I usually do. I mean I'm used to it, but it'd be nice to just freely throw in a background without having to measure how it'll impact the main stuff on the page... that I've never done....

Didn't win

Didn't expect to honestly. Seeing the winners' vids and kinda suspect they got thousands of votes. Who are these people? The vids were mediocre stuff one of which didn't meet the rules so how did that win... No females either so that's kinda sad, should have made it have a bit of an affirmative action slant to it to be more inclusive... but eh, I did get one vote. Somebody liked my vid. And I give that person a huge thanks. It'd really suck to go down without a vote and be one of those vids sitting there at 0....

lots of drama in the last few days for me, and I'll keep it to myself. I mean I want to express my distress but yanno, I've got a lot to express, probably be going on and on about all of it... Fuck that right... live in the moment, don't worry, all going to f'n die anyway... grab a beautiful woman and enjoy this goddamn little life before it's over... That's all I'm thinking... or trying to think...

Going to lay out what I hope can go down tomorrow and the next day...

Get the rest of the coloring completed... Dead eye focus on that stuff, maybe an occasional battlefront match in between considering they've yet again claimed to have fixed the many bugs in that clusterfuck of a game. It's soul crushing to dedicate all your time to one task. Sad but true. I'm only human afterall...

Then when it's over, get back to the damn piano lessons and try to work that out. I don't know, just something I think I should do.... I think often these days about wtf am I going to do to get by without having to go be some damn wage slave negro in the plantations out there, that seems like my only strategy in the end... I'm just being honest. I get it now. It's like not hard to see the way things are.

One positive note though. I've been losing weight like crazy for some reason beyond my unerstanding so I've slimmed down a lot more than I would have imagined. It's been interesting. I've always been skinny it's just the crappy food that's held my potential to be myself back. Nice to see me looking like me again.

Messed around a bit

Lots of experimentation tonight as I intended it to be. I'm getting a better handle on sketchbook pro... certainly a great program to just knock out some quick cool sketches and drawings, so much possibilities to just marathon out a whole comic if you want without the typical stack of papers and such. With better more responsive less glitchy screen tech, yeah I'd say paper's obsolete...

Got a few variations on the bullet poster I came up with:

The first one being the default, then I looked up clip masking on youtube and decided to create a stencil art kinda thing to it with smudges to add that wavy look.... Then played with the hue to make the colors whatever I wanted, so many possibilities with this program so cool. But yeah the bullet gets kinda lost in the last one... but I sitll like it most...

Oh well, on to work tomorrow then back to finishing these things. I'm on target for end of the month, but it will be a lot of work and crap, oh boy what joy.
