Despite my hopes that this movie just drowns upon release, I am still checking out bits and shits about it... part of my nature. Been doing star wars stuff since I was 8, give me a break.
We now know exactly how Lando will look in the movie. He will look like Donald Glover and wear a terrible yellow jacket while he's piloting the falcon.
It's like they're determined to screw it up.
Apparently he's going to be sporting a low hair cut, no attempt at all at shaping Glover's hair to actually be styled like Billy Dee's waves.
It will be very awkward and probably going to immediately be the most laughable thing about the movie the fact that Lando looks like ass and not the handsome, smooth, cool guy he's meant to be.
Why did Ron keep him? He's all they got... Not only is he in the footage already shot, but it'd be a pain in the ass to spend the money on recasting and destroying the original footage. So for all eternity we'll be dealing with a young Lando chosen for this film by directors who were fired off the project. That's the reality of this stuff.
Obviously in my mind Howard was kinda trying to figure out how to light and angle the camera on Glover to get him to kinda almost sorta resemble billy dee. It won't work and it'll look shitty and like space balls Ron.
You inherited the casting choices of directors who were kicked out.
Does Howard care? At this point, who knows. He's an older more corporate minded film maker these days not the young hungry desperate to prove himself punk he started as....
It's going to be a competently made, jj abrams star trek movie that leaves your brain five minutes after it ends...
That's just a tragedy....
