At least that does. Won't get me running around the street part of the black lives matter hoopla going on... been mugged, beaten, teased, bullied by black folk all my life. No, sad to say, no, black lives don't matter that much to me considering my experience.
Only thing important is my life, my life matters.
Cuz I'm making this movie.
It's just as I said, when you make this shit, you hate it, you curse it, you want to quit, then that eureka moment happens and you discover brilliance and pursue it tenaciously.
I've gotten some really stellar ideas going as I craft these scenes for the opening of the film. Don't want to spoil it though I'm tempted...
Getting out of the house and into the neighborhood around here is no good to do.... cops were never this prevalent around here. I guess it's an attempt to scare off the hood rats. Like that'll work. I mean, sure they can't just do nothing, they have to protect the stores and the subway system from the gangs and thieves roaming the bronx, sure, but I grew up here. There were no cops there all my childhood. Barely saw them. What the hell is different now. And no, if those guys want to steal something badly enough they'll fucking find a way. No cop presence is going to deter them. Seems like a weird pointless gesture to throw cops all over the streets for no reason. Only thing it's going to do is escalate matters in my opinion. One of these cops is going to get pissed off and knock some dumbass black kid's teeth out at some point cuz he's got a stick up his ass that day for getting the shit assignment. Just saying, I know this town. Rowdy black kids live here, do what they do, having a cop up those guy's asses isn't going to make things better at all. Some times you have to decide when to let things play out in my opinion...
Anyway, exhausted. What a crazy game, boy, life... We'll see how this goddamn movie thing works out....
