I'm here, still looking at the static shock project and hoping to finish something. I've decided to at least try to shoot a bit of it every day instead of wasting a day for no reason. Whether it's training shots or just little close ups I want to get for the final battle. If it's a close up, why do I need to go out into the woods to shoot it? So I fake it around here some where.
Wish I had a better camera. Exposure levels I've tried to adjust to work better, not happening, the thing's forever kinda gonna be shit. I mean if I set it to film at 30fps, it'd look better but I want full 60fps, not going to compromise and I shot everything else at that framerate, so yeah, not going to do less if I can. It's an excellent camera at close range. I mean the detail when things are right up next to the lense is excellent. When it has to shoot a full complex scene it buckles and looks like shit, so I have no choice but to only shoot the movie at medium and close range. I cannot hope to get epic wide shots with this camera, it'll fail dramatically.
Currently as I type this planning my shooting schedule. Surprisingly very good decisions I've made as far as not trying to do too many split screen effects shots.... Those of course are tough to do properly. I will try to get those out of the way first so I don't even have to be concerned with them the rest of the shoot. Indeed there's a large difference between what you intend to do and what you can do permitted by time and the actual damn environment itself.
Not really going to be as bad as I thought initially. I will be able to knock most of the final battle out sans the part where I get struck by lightning... That may be something I have to fully green screen, dunno yet. That part's still a mystery. Poor decision to neglect staying in shape for all these months, but dammit what can I say.... dumbass be a dumbass sometimes.
We'll see how it goes. It's a good movie, quality stuff. Just had little ideas for shots I want to accomplish etc. Need to go scout a location with a bridge for the shot where static enters the scene all dramatic and badass. I mean shooting the final battle is imperative as I can definitely notice the trees starting to die out... if the environment changes I'm fucked. So yeahhhhhh gotta move.......
