Jamie Foxworth responds to Family Matter EW reunion

Saw her post on facebook. Odd I can't comment on it. Not like I wilded out on her page or anything and caused her to ban me or whatever, weird... a few people in my likes I can't comment on, shame, don't understand why. I'm just a 90s brat looking to hang out and do cool crap as usual. Oh well...

What's my thoughts on it. I thought they called her up but she declined, having a chip on her shoulder about being fired.

Couldn't have been more wrong. She would have done it if they asked her. I figured they would, not like she wasn't a prominent cast member for a minute, but I do understand why they didn't call her. She wasn't there for the actual successful explosion of the show's popularity when it peaked and really dominated the TGIF line up. She was there for that little beginning period when it was just finding itself as a show, then for financial reasons they brutally wrote her out of the show.

She explains that they had done it on shows before and felt it wouldn't hurt the show to have a character vanish. I guess so. Shows evolve etc, Seinfeld was nothing like it ended up being when Jerry started it, changed names and stuff. I damn sure know that season 1 of johnny quest is a totally different show than season 2. 90s was a time when you just couldn't risk getting too attached to stuff in shows cuz either the show would be canceled or they'd completely rape the show and change it....

Looking back, there's a lot of shady crap going on under the hood of family matters. Brilliant show, awful intentions behind the people running it, the way the slyly tossed in racism under the radar like that. Makes some episodes unwatchable to me... Sad. I mean does Jaleel ever truly plan to show his daughter the episodes full of fried chicken references? I certainly hope he skips them.

Yeah, I mean why not wouldn't have hurt to toss her some credit. Or do a joking photo shoot showing foxworth looking down stairs at the family. Now here's the rub. There were A LOT of other cast members to potentially call for the shoot. They didn't call the second harriet for obvious reasons. They didn't call Jason David Frank (I'M KIDDING.) Just saying, maxine isn't there and she was a staple of the show till the last, and she's on the internet facebooking etc, just like they all are, so why wasn't she called? That's an even more weird omission than Judy... Oh well. Glad they're trying to attempt to throw us Family Matters fans a bone. It was the GET THIS, NUMBER 1 show on TGIF. You had every other show, then there was the PLAYOFFS, FAMILY MATTERS. That's why that show is so damn good and well made. They did. not. play. they worked HARD to make that show amazing week after week...

Butt alas...

It's long gone in the past, nobody really today is so pent up about a family matters reunion anymore. It honestly should have happened at least 2010 or on one of the anniversaries of the show. Lord knows I'd prefer that over Fuller House sans the Olsens, my little butt munchkins. I maintain that they HATE someone associated with that show to not return. I know their personality inside and out, there's no way they'd decline returning for a cameo unless there's bad blood going on. And that's whatever, it's up to them, just that they don't have a career to jeopardize by going back to the well, so what's the issue. And me personally it would bring a smile to my face to see my girls back with Danny, Uncle Jesse, and Stephanie, etc. It'd just be a fun thing, since I was there, I was a kid, the coolest kid, and there were my little buddies right there as I grew up. I could always count on my Olsen girls to be a bright snarky little cool chick having a cool life. It was nice to have that connection, knowing the olsens were like just as stupid and weird and crazy as ME and that was represented on tv, my weirdness was represented. So it's odd they'd be too big for a cameo, weird. So down to earth, tomboys both of em, not a hint that they'd become these two diva queens.

I learned very fast growing up though girls are like these jekly hyde things. Start off cool, turn into something else later, simple math really...

Will this photo shoot lead to a revamp of family matters? HA HA HA HA HA. No. Sadly the show did indeed live and die on Jaleel White. And he honest to GOD can't be Urkel anymore, too damn old. So yeah, it's truly dead. And no one can replace him. It's not possible. All throughout my childhood they TRIED with every thing they had to reinvent urkel. FAILED time and again. Jaleel was from some kind of weird outer space dimension or some shit, bro. They know that his talent and dominance on the show was pure luck and they couldn't dream of duplicating it. So yeah either they go full hog with a reunion MOVIE or just leave the series where it is and let it rest in peace...
