It will happen. Judging by the film's success this is inevitable. Sigh, sad to say I probably will definitely not be considered for Lando. Glover is getting high praise although I think once he speaks with his nerdy voice and basically kinda sucks people will see how wrong he was. Alden already is getting crapped on for his way off solo performance. It's like watching a star wars snl sketch trying to be passed off as a legit film. Little do people know that the original intention for hiring Alden and Glover was to make a light hearted star wars parody film. Now they're trying to pass them off as serious versions of the characters and it's coming off as contradictory.
Such a mess. And it's fun to see how people kinda are struggling with whether to care and go see a ron howard movie.
In my mind, yeah ron howard will have done something and contributed greatly to this, but I think Lawrence Kasdan is the real director, puppeteering howard here.... It just looks like a kasdan style to it more than Howard. Whatever Lord and Miller did to piss off Kasdan must have been serious shit.
I'm wondering if I should bother trying to audition for Lando if they do decide to make a star wars show and probably center it around young Lando a character we could definitely anchor a show around...
God, it'd be great.... I'd have a purpose to my existence and connection to star wars instead of being me, stuck watching some wacky dude playing Lando cuz he got bills to pay... It just feels wrong. And I'm so sore about it I don't even want to see the movie and yunno that hurts me because I respect Ron Howard and loved willow and apollo so much. Of course he'll do wonders with his masterful hands on this film. You'd be a fool not to give it a look see despite its difficulties getting made. Ron needs to get his own star wars movie from scratch that's for sure. He doesn't deserve sloppy seconds at all.
It's so strange how hard their trying to salvage the solo movie. Putting news bites out about John williams coming back to write music, ford himself helping alden and advising him. Ok that's fine but is the movie going to be good? John Williams scored each of the prequels and they're batshit insane movies. Sorry gotta give us something better than that. Ford has already made it clear he could care less about the movie, why's he being made out to be someone involved with it. We know the OT actors at least talked to the new actors briefly. Glover chatted with Billy Dee. Most likely Ford told alden a few things too. Glover will still fail and Alden is already pretty awful so his advice didn't help....
I kinda agree. We don't need a solo movie. A lando movie or a young obiwan movie would have been the better bet. Solo's story is not interesting really and even less so knowing how it ends. Why would we sit and watch him fight and claw tooth and nail through hell to accomplish things when we know his fate in the end. Just why?
If you want to point to the prequels. True we knew the fate of the characters but the joy of those films was seeing how things got the way they got later, and unfortunately it was a mess, but at the time we all wondered about how the jedi fell, what the clone wars were, and the biggest mystery of all how the hell Anakin got injured and why he fell from the jedi. In better hands he prequels would have been truly amazing and fun as we explored unanswered stuff.
Is there anything new this movie is going to have to say about Han? True we don't know how he met chewie and such, but who cares. I can't say I do anymore... What else? Nothing, is he some how related to Porkins? I'd love to know Lando's story that's for sure, but hell no they're not going to try to sell a black film to a white audience, just forget it...
Well I'm not going to turn it down if they want to do it. Goddamn, I'd love to play Lando and fullfill my destiny since I was a little kid playing with my luke skywalker toy in my bed room.
The reality is this. Listen. Do you care about Jyn Erso? Was her story all that? Did you leave Rogue One wanting to watch it a few more times at all? No? Didn't captivate you, didn't make you want to revisit it? Those characters just kinda bland hugh... nothing interesting or good really happen in the movie huh...
