I'm wondering if I should backup my blog, screen shot the whole damn thing and keep my blog forever since I know that the web is finite. I've been using the web for over a decade. So sad when a site just turns the lights off and kills your entire little collection of vids mercilessly. I was an idiot to think that websites would last forever. Alas. I uploaded and since back in those days space was precious, deleted the vid to make room for more porn or something. Why not. What could happen now that it's on the internet? Ha ha, zip zap gone. F U guy...
You realize how the net works real quick when you get shitted on by it, indeed.
Been watching sliders like a maniac and using it I guess to help me not feel so damn angsty about finishing the static shock project.
Thoroughly enjoyable show though. I never knew it was so well written. I watched it for years, but was more about cartoons, the emerging anime shows, sat morning stuff. But yeah, I watched it back when it aired, saw the whole first season, somewhere around 3 was when I kinda flaked out on it but I was there all the way up to where Jerry's brother Charlie was on the show, that's how long I was loyal to sliders and was still watching. But by that time sliders was competing with cable shows and in my mind the more action oriented tv shows of the time xena, hercules, so a cerebral sci fi show like sliders wasn't going to be able to last much longer in the coming storm of similar adventure shows.
Kinda strange fate the show ended up with. Starting the trend of action sci fi shows, then getting dominated by copy cats.
Little did I know of the behind the scenes drama that went on... I'm hesitant to actually want to watch the next seasons after reading about how mangled the show became because of the craziness that went on behind the scenes. And what does it matter, I didn't watch it back when it was airing, no point watching it now... It's like the wade character does return and I'm so in love with Sabrina's wade that I want to watch her brief return in season 5 but I NEVER knew how they decided to end her character. You have to understand I did not understand what happened to her, hell I thought she was just replaced by a new actress, oh it was confusing that's all. Anyway, there was arguments or something yadda yadda the actress quit the show and they shoe horned in that she was sent to a prison and later died. So yeah why would I after spending these last few days getting deep into her very well written character want to watch her end up like that. I don't want to see it. I want to keep the character clean in my head.
Oh my god, how Sliders concludes itself is such a mess. I forgot how traumatized I was by the collapse of the series as it came unraveled before my eyes a loyal viewer from the first episode.
It's full of easter eggs that's why I keep watching... There's references to the actor's previous stuff. Jerry O Connel's a veteran actor from childhood, he's insanely good in the show and I do intend to watch all of his episodes. Had no clue and was shocked to see Corey Feldman was in sliders. There's tons of stand by me easter eggs in the show. And it's just funny. It's awesome what 90s tv used to be all about, having fun. Not trying to be the next goddamn masterpiece. Such a lost art, fun relaxed tv shows that aren't trying to be all deep.
I was there man. 90s tv was just about having a cool show. Sucks to wake up today and see we've lost that attitude of chill out and have no worries for a while, damn man.... That's why I don't bother with today's shows. I don't. I just watch old 90s shows. Everything was done better then. Today can't compare at all. It just cheers me up to look back and be reminded life didn't always suck and feel like ass.
Gonna be getting into my project more seriously very soon. It's like, I'm just lazy to be honest... and it's freezing cold so that's a factor. I was trying to edit the thing today and was just over whelmed by the cold. Not easy...
Not going to be impossible it' s all about motivation to complete it. When it's done then what? I don't have a damn clue. I'm just going with the flow of life, all I've ever done. I eat. I shit. I sleep. I wake. And I be. I don't know why...
Gonna probably binge watch star trek. I never cared for TNG but after seeing how much Orville apes it, might actually be worth it to watch. I did decide to watch a few of its top episodes one night and was blown away by them, so yeah it wouldn't be so bad.... But yeah what can I compare sliders to. Beast Wars. Beast fuckin wars man... I warn anyone planning to binge watch Beast Wars. OH my God does that show stumble and become shit the same way sliders does. So be warned... Never did I imagine that show would conclude the way it did. I was wracking my brain for those movies and tv shows that do this thing where they have the characters end up in a worse situation after seemingly been victorious. F'n beast wars did that shit, that's where I'm remembering it from. I mean it's a trope tv shows and movies sometimes use. But in Beast Wars' case it was egregious and horrible what that show did. And it didn't have to. It was a creative 'dumb' decision to steer the series the way they did. And it's soul crushing to see where the characters ultimately conclude after all the tough battles fought. It breaks your heart so bad.
So yeah, when I see people talking about how the new star wars kinda tarnishes the characters and makes all their battles pointless if they didn't actually win. Yeah I know... seen that before... it sucked ass back then too but it isn't unique to the new trilogy...
Usually tv does this stuff. Due to lower budgets, or changing networks or the show just running forever and them deciding to do things differently for a change.
Like I'll never watch Lost ever again. And it's hard for me to say that, but knowing it doesn't answer much and ends in such a flakey hokey half assed way does make me not want to bother with it.
Thundercats kinda did this and I don't think they ever finished that show. The first show I remember ending poorly as a kid was Gargoyles. They did their thing with the first few seasons, then they changed the show up once the budget was lowered on it and it was a shell of its former self and sucked. True when Beast Wars was changed over to Beast Machines I think they had less money or something and that was why the show opted for a more personal dramatic approach. Just ugh, they took a shit on everything that came before it just to make it smaller and more artsy. Oh shit.
I'll never get over Beast Machines. I'll never get over that shit bro... what it did to my young brain.
Well I'm done talkin, just bored and rambling per usual...
