Not bad. I'm having fun with it. Ship controls are still awful. Why not just completely steal the controls from the old bf, or freakin battlefield, you guys made that game, the controls are awesome in that...

But it's a step in the right direction. Most enjoyable is that it's not a hunt for tolkens, it's about hunting the enemy for points, period. That's the game. It's brutal really. You either kill or don't get paid. Me being a bf veteran, I've quickly learned how to get good at it, but yeah it's difficult to get to that point. Don't give up on it, it does get better once you learn how to be patient and don't rambo your way through the map trying to get kills that way. The secret is simply use team work and turrets, and tons of cover, and luck... But yeah I've discovered a group of the officer class together in one squad is just a beast since officers give each other health, just hang with another officer and he'll help you, you help him, it's how to win really...
Looks really good. Sadly it's still not going to make me forget how genius BF2 was. Whole nother level that bitch... Vehicles on the map. Wampas running around. Fun little easter eggs all over the map. We're on Naboo, and there's no gungans running around to potentially shoot? Did they even watch the movies?
That's the problem with the EA star wars, they're not having fun with it and honoring the star wars history. I remember star wars games that despite having flaws, felt like mini celebrations of star wars and that's what I personally loved about them. They were made with love. EA bf seems to be made with statistics and numbers and sales expectations... Not a fanboyish glee at getting to play a star wars freakin game in the modern era with all the potential to actually DO what we've only dreamed of. Darth Maul can't fuckin back flip? The health bars are still not Lightsabers? FUCK YOU on that one... It's star wars videogame tradition. I'm sick of them ignoring that.
But it's good. I enjoy it. It's just more and more feeling like what I guess it really always has been, a star wars mod slapped on top of battlefield. Oh well... we'll see what the final thing is like.
